St. Nicholas Cathedral of Da Lat

Landmark steeped in charm and architectural elegance

Dalat Cathedral, or Chicken Church, is a top Dalat attraction named after its unique chicken sculpture on the roof. Made from alloy, this sculpture rotates with the wind and symbolises France’s Gallic Rooster.

The cathedral’s cross-shaped design spans 65 metres in length, 14 metres in width, and features a 47-metre bell tower offering panoramic city views. Its main entrance faces the impressive Langbiang Mountain.

Inside, you’ll find three sections: a central hall flanked by smaller compartments. The interior highlights winding arches, classical columns, and 70 stunning paintings by the Louis Balmet workshop in France. Located just 1 kilometre from Dalat Market in the city centre, it’s a must-visit spot for architecture enthusiasts and sightseers.
